Therefore, any worries or problems you may be having in civilian life, we can offer you advice and support.

Free in-house Counselling sessions available and referrals

We can all become overwhelmed, depressed or suffer anxiety. We are here to support you and more importantly, listen.

We will conduct a needs/well-being assessment. Which is all confidential and we will not share your information to a 3rd party without your permission.

Once this is completed and you have attended your first counselling session, we can advise you on your options.

This may be a referral to the NHS Veterans’ Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service (TILS).

If you are waiting for an appointment with TILS, we can offer you counselling sessions in the interim. Therefore, you will always have someone to talk to.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

ART SESSIONS

Hi! I’m Tina a volunteer at STEPWAY. I am ex RAF serving from 2000 – 2007, at which point I was medically discharged after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

In Civvy street I ran a branch of an international franchise with an air drying polymer clay.
My team & I ran holiday workshops for kids & sessions for adults as well as commissioned work, retail kits, gifts etc.

I have set up Art sessions available for Veterans at the drop-in for everyone to try or just sit & watch. It doesn’t matter what the outcome is, it’s a great group activity, an easy way to break the ice & have conversations with others.

Art sessions take place twice a month on a Thursday. For more information please visit our Facebook page or:

Cats with registered volunteers to hospitals, hospices, residential care homes, day centres, special needs schools and many other establishments, providing comfort, companionship and therapy.

The constant companionship of an undemanding animal, that gives unconditional love, is often one of the most missed aspects of their lives. Pets As Therapy was formed to help make this loss more bearable and speed recovery.

Pets as Therapy visit the Drop-in Centre twice a month and our Veterans say it really brightens up their day!
