The Women Veterans Support Network is a welcoming and supportive space for female veterans to come together, connect with others who have served, and take part in activities that support wellbeing, confidence and inclusion.
Whether you served for many years or a short time, you are a veteran.

What We Offer
The Women Veterans Support Network provides a calm and supportive environment where women who have served in the Armed Forces can share experiences and take part in meaningful activities.
These include:
πΏ Horticultural therapy β enjoying the outdoors while learning new skills
π¨ Crafts and creativity β exploring arts and crafts in a relaxed setting
πΆββοΈ Walks and talks β gentle outdoor activity with time to connect
π§ββοΈ Menopause support β a safe space to share experiences and support one another
π Organised day trips β building friendships and reducing isolation
π Social activities β including meals out, book club and group sessions
π» Online support β regular group sessions on Teams for those unable to attend in person
The group is led by women who understand the unique experiences of service life and offer a supportive, non-judgemental space.

Meet the Project Lead – Helen Brown
The Women Veterans Support Network is led by Helen, a veteran who understands first-hand the transition from military to civilian life.
Helen brings lived experience, warmth and understanding to the group, creating a space where women feel comfortable, heard and supported.
She also facilitates:
- Online group sessions
- Social activities and trips
- Ongoing peer support

Sessions take place weekly and monthly across STEPWAY locations:

First Tuesday of every month | 1000 β 1300
You can attend as often as you like β there is no pressure, just a friendly and welcoming environment.
Who Can Join?
This group is open to:
- All female veterans, regardless of age, rank, or length of service
- Women who may not usually access veteran support but would benefit from connection
- Those looking for a relaxed and supportive community
No formal referral or diagnosis is required β just a willingness to come along.
